How to Make Corn Halwa

This is one such recipe which is made with sweet corn, “Corn Halwa” has a brilliant yellow colour.

Corn Halwa

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Serves 4.


  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup grated sweet corn cobs
  • 1 cup full fat milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
  • A few saffron (kesar) strands
  • 1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts
  • A piece of edible silver leaf (vark) for the garnish


  1. Heat the ghee in a kadhai, add the sweet corn and sauté till it turns golden brown, while stirring continuously.
  2. Add the milk and sugar and simmer till the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the coconut, cardamom powder and saffron and cook till the halwa leaves the sides of the kadhai.
  4. Add the dry fruits and mix well.
  5. Serve hot garnished with edible silver foil.
